ERDEM X H&M favorites

ERDEM X H&M favorites

In a world exclusive, Erdem has created his first ever menswear collection for ERDEM x H&M, inspired by childhood memories, his design signatures and Erdem’s own personal style. Sharp tailoring has echoes of his father’s suits and coats, fleeces were a functional necessity of cold Canadian winters, while expressive florals show Erdem’s love of the English countryside. It’s a complete wardrobe that’s totally unique to H&M, with Erdem’s sharp and poetic take on menswear staples – herringbone suits, tweed coats and the perfect hoodie. ERDEM x H&M will be available in around 220 stores worldwide, as well as on, from November 2. See you at 9 in the morning front of Váci1! Actually this will be my first time at any designer collection fight. I can’t wait to have a little box before work! Before getting these amazing items, I’d like to show you my favorites in this collection beside the basic ones that everybody will buy, who has the chance to be early.

Established in London in 2005 the designer ready‐to‐wear brand, has come to be synonymous with versatile yet powerful femininity. Founder Erdem Moralioglu trained at the prestigious Royal College of Art in London where he remained to launch the brand following his graduation. Known for his use of experimental textiles, vibrant prints, and detailed craftsmanship, Erdem has created a beautiful world of the delicate mixed with the bold.

Actually this one is his first ever men’s collection. He said that:
“It’s such a different process from designing women’s. When I designed the men’s pieces for ERDEM x H&M, I was thinking about the things that I wear today, and also about my childhood, my youth, and what my father wore.”
“Designing the men’s collection for ERDEM x H&M was almost forensic. I thought, if I was to design a coat, what’s the best way? What would be the perfect length? How would it fit? When I put it on, how would it feel? It was such an intuitive and investigative design process.”

Sharp tailoring

Tradition is made modern with sharp suits and winter coats that remind Erdem of his father’s wardrobe. Neat blazers are in either fine grey herringbone or faint windowpane check, with a ticket pocket to give it a sense of the countryside. Its insides are lined with black-on-black floral jacquard, with contrast stitching and grosgrain ribbon trim. Matching pants are cut equally sharp and cropped at the ankle. Winter coats, some in Harris Tweed, are neat and fitted, with removable linings for extra warmth, like those worn by Erdem in his Canadian youth.

Expressive florals

ERDEM is famous for his expressive floral prints, which appear often in this debut men’s collection. A burgundy zip-up hooded nylon shell has a pattern as if scattered with wild flowers, which also appears on burgundy short-sleeve shirts and khaki green crew-neck 100% organic cotton T-shirts, both with grosgrain trim at the neck. An 100% silk olive green pyjama shirt and matching wide pants with white piping trim have a more formal floral pattern, like re-purposed 60s country wallpaper.

Last week I was scrolling down on my Facebook timeline, when I saw that Dora has a new collection. -Cool kids alert! -Than I’ve opened her online shop (click HERE for that) and found this cool rosewood embroidered bomber jacket. This is for boys, who can take care of their stuff, because it’s fully velvet that we know, needs special care.

I really love that this is a coolkids style made of traditional materials, that every boy could rock. I love the embroidered shoulders so much. Have you ever thought that this traditional embellishments, like embroidery could be cool in the 2016? Maybe you haven’t but it’s cool as hell! Last, but not least the long black tapes are giving this jacket some soaring feeling. When we were shooting this post, the wind was blowing and this types started their own life. I tried to control them but after some minutes, I’ve decided to let them live their life and show some movements on the pictures.

If you go to ZSIGMOND DORA menswear on Facebook (or click HERE), you can read the whole background story of this collection, so I put one of my favorite sentence here.

„The AW16 collection of ZSIGMOND DORA menswear was inspired by the escape of the designer’s great-grandmother from Yugoslavia to Hungary. „

My grandparents are living in a little village. I remember, when my grandmother was embroidered, knitted or crocheted. It’s so chic to see those old memories are coming back. Dora started to bringing these traditional Hungarian handworks back in fashion.

Elite moments

Most of us have limits in their life. We afraid of the future and suffering from the present. About a year ago, I’ve decided that I’ll give up this kind of life. I don’t need any negativity or limit in my life. Thinking positive and trying to find new ways are more exciting than thinking of any negative moment in my life. So I try to fly like nobody.

Some weeks before, we went to this amazing Skybar in the city center. I’ve heard tons of positive sentences about this place, so I had to give it a try. I have to tell you that the bar has an upper terrace, where we were shooting these amazing pictures… And of course, I have agoraphobia so it was so scary to me. But I loved it so much. I’ve tried their fresh pear juice, that is my most have all summer days long.

As you can see, I’ve turned to elegant because the bar is in a luxury hotel, where I’d like to live 😉 I love shirts, but most of the times they aren’t fits me, because I’ super skinny.  But actually this is my favorite shirt.

I’d like to recommend you the Skybar. You will absolutely love it. Perfect place for tons of Instagram pictures, parties or just chilling with friend over the city.

_MG_6012Today we are flying back to the 70s… As long as I moved to Budapest, I’ve visited tons of cafés and bakeries. But now, I’ve found the best place to make real my vision. This place called Liberté. I have to tell you, that I’m one of the biggest fan of the series “The Americans”. I always loved spy series which shows some old-school style too with the cool spy life. Especially from 60s to 80s. At the first time, when I’ve visited Liberté with my friend, it was love from the first moment. I saw in my fantasy that spies having their business with some cup of coffee and cakes, or story times with their bosses. If you haven’t seen “The Americans” it’s about sleeping spies from the Soviet Union in the USA. -You have to watch that! –

So, I’ve decided to make a photoshoot in this café house. Their team is so lovely, they helped us to create this post and make real my vision. I was wearing the most comfortable shirt, I’ve ever had, with deep baby blue suit and this Gucci inspirited pairs of shoes.

I can’t find more words to describe you the feeling, that I’ve felt. I’m still shocked, because we could have made that pictures, that I’ve wanted for so long. I was an elite spy for 20 minutes. And I loved that feeling so so much. Thank you again for Liberté.

Guys, if you looking for a good place with iconic interior to chill, have a cup of coffee, cake or a business lunch, this place is the perfect one for you. Have a nice day 😉

PS: Because it’s a 70’s inspirited post, we took the pictures like then. I hope you like it as much as me.
